About REALTANG

We were clients before we became advisors.

We bought our first condo at 26 and 28. It was one of our best decisions. We still could have done much better.

That experience shaped how we advise today. Profit alone does not prove the capital was used well. We ask what alternatives existed, what the next step unlocks, and whether the decision still works when life changes.

Somewhere along the way, property became the work we wanted to do together.

Our story

The questions people usually ask us first.

The two of us

Meet Dylan and Joey.

Dylan Tang
Dylan

Affordability · Financing · Scenario planning

BSc Civil Engineering (Honours with Distinction), NTU · Former Executive Engineer, LTA & HDB

Before real estate, Dylan worked in engineering and the public sector, where structured thinking and planning were part of everyday work.

Today, he focuses on the numbers behind each property decision: affordability, financing, different scenarios and how one move affects the next.

His favourite question isn't just "What can you afford?" It's "What are you trying to achieve?"

Joey

Positioning · Negotiation · Client experience

BSc Marketing, SUSS · Former Campaign Marketing, Shopee · Centre Manager, SUSS Student Success Centre

Joey came from marketing and operations, where communication, execution and understanding people were central to her work.

Today, she focuses on property positioning, negotiations and keeping the many moving parts of a transaction together.

She also leads REALTANG's brand and content, turning complicated property topics into something people can actually understand.

How we work together

Two advisors. One client journey.

Both of us can run a property transaction from start to finish. Working together means every case gets two sets of eyes.

We talk through the numbers, viewings, negotiations, concerns and next steps constantly. Because we're husband and wife as well as business partners, those conversations don't always wait for a formal case meeting. Property follows us into the car, over dinner and occasionally into conversations that were definitely supposed to be about something else. 😂

We don't divide clients into "Joey's cases" and "Dylan's cases". One of us may lead a particular part of the work, but the thinking behind the case is shared.

We also bring different instincts into the same conversation. That doesn't mean one person fills a weakness in the other. It means a decision gets tested from more than one angle before we stand behind it.

Our first-home chapter

$1.027M

Purchase price in 2021. We later sold after five years and came back to the same questions our clients face: hold, upgrade, rent, wait, or stretch.

"We don't advise from a perfect-property fantasy. We advise from the decisions real couples actually have to make."

Our own property journey

One property, start to finish.

And yes, we're using our own frameworks on ourselves too.

We're asking ourselves many of the same questions we ask our clients. How much space do we actually need? How much should we commit? What are we willing to compromise on? And what does the next property need to do for us over the next few years?

We're making the decision soon.

Why we talk about asset elevation

We want each move to leave the next one open.

When we bought our first home, we knew we wanted it to help us progress. What we didn't have was a clear plan for how one property decision would lead to the next.

We think about it differently today.

Our own goal is $5M in property assets before we turn 40. That's enough financial flexibility to look after our family, have choices later in life and eventually work because we want to, not because we have to.

That's also why we ask clients what the property needs to do beyond simply being the next home.

Off duty

And when we're not talking about property…

We love travelling to new places, trying great food and new experiences, binge-watching a good Netflix series, and spending time with family and friends.

But honestly, we don't really stop talking about property. 😂

At the heart of it, we're two people who enjoy building a life, a business and a future together, and we're grateful to play a small part in helping our clients build theirs too.

What we're building

What we're building with REALTANG.

We want clients to trust both the people they're working with and the thinking behind our advice. That means keeping up with the market, understanding the numbers, researching what we're recommending and being clear about the trade-offs.

We also want the relationship to continue beyond one transaction. Some clients send us their friends and family. Some just become friends. If we already understand what you bought, why you bought it and what you're trying to achieve, the next conversation shouldn't have to start from zero.

Honestly, it's the kind of advisory relationship we wish we'd had when we were making our own first decisions.

That's the REALTANG we're building. A relationship you can come back to as your life and your properties change, and one you'd be comfortable introducing to the people you care about.
